Constipation is an uncomfortable and a very embarrassing situation I can tell you that from my own experiemce. And it is true that certain foods can be blamed for causing your discomfort. Foods high in hydrogenated and animal fats – cheese, ice cream, fatty meats, whole milk and snacks like chips and pizza. 3. High sugar, caffeine and non-nutritional drinks – alcohol, coffee, colas and fruit juice (since the fiber has been removed). Foods that Help Constipation For most people, dietary and lifestyle improvements can lessen the chances of constipation.Increase also your daily intake of rich high-fiber foods such as asparagus, beans, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, garlic, kale, okra, peas, sweet potatoes, whole grains. Foods that contain high amounts of soluble fiber are recomendable include adzuki beans, barley, dried beans, oats, apples, apricots, bananas, blackberries, cranberries, figs, grapes, peaches, and prunes. Foods that contain high amounts of insoluble fiber include cereals, seeds, wheat bran, whole grains, and the skins of many vegetables as well as fresh fruits. Figs or prunes are considered to be the best natural laxatives and can very helpful for constipation. Herbs that Help Constipation Aside from avoiding foods that cause constipation and incorporating high fiber foods and fluids, there are herbs that can help this complaint. Aloe vera juice has a soothing as well as healing and cleansing effect on the digestive system and, as such, it aids in forming soft stools. Cascara sagrada Dandelion is also used as a constipation aid due to its powerful laxative properties. ginger, Flaxseed oil helps to soften stools and may get things moving again. Milk Thistle is well renowned for its ability to aid liver function and increase the production of bile flow. Psyllium seed is also helpful for constipation and may be your salvation. rhubarb root, senna leaves, and yerba mate. Treatment The first step in treating constipation is to understand that normal frequency varies widely, from three bowel movements a day to three a week. Each person must determine what is normal to avoid becoming dependent on laxatives.In addition, dairy products, salt, coffee, alcohol, sugar, soft drinks, white floor, processed foods, and meat offer the body little or no fiber and are difficult to digest. Personally the way I do it I drink every morning in an empty stomach a mix of veggies called Metagreens with just plain water.
