This allows them to serve as a bio-marker for our overall health and our prospects for a longer, healthier life.
I have also learned the importance of having a purpose in life, a core desire, a mission. Having something to work for, to hope for, and to look forward to from day to day will provide essential emotional support and a feeling of well being.
I realize that material things are not as important as they once were. Today at age 68, I am fortunate to live in the country, where I can appreciate nature, enjoy the advantages a small community can offer, and learn from my dogs about life. I have also learned to accept people just the way they are. Most importantly, live each day and just appreciate the 24 hours ahead.
I will say I have become a happier and healthier human being.
